About Us

Justin Poulin

Justin got his start on MVN.com as the sole contributor to the Celtics17 blog during the beginning of the Danny Ainge era in Boston.  He co-founded, co-hosted, and produced both Celtics Stuff Live and Killer Crossover on 360thepitch.com before developing celticsstufflive.com and focusing all his efforts towards covering the Boston Celtics.  He has had credentialed access to the Celtics locker room since January of ‘07 and is a member of the pro basketball writers association.  He served as the Broadcast Manager for CelticsBlog.com when Celtics Stuff Live moved to that site for the ‘07-’08 banner season.  Justin is featured in the full length feature film "Return to the Rafters" which chronicles the Celtics championship run that same season.

Jon Duke

Jon Duke is a lifelong Celtics fan born a few weeks after a certain French Lick native was drafted by the greatest professional basketball franchise ever, and it has been Love Connection ever since. 1986 was the first year Jon followed the C’s with rabid devotion and he could not have picked a better time to learn how the game is meant to be played. However, following the team was difficult living Maine, with only Mike and Tommy as a lifeline to all things Celtics. Thanks to the internet, Jon’s passion for the team went into overdrive and eventually led him to start Boston Sports Media Watch’s Full Court Press, a blog dedicated to the Celtics under Bruce Allen’s careful hand. From there, Jon was asked to be a guest on a new Celtics themed live podcast called Celtics Stuff Live with Justin Poulin and Jim "JB" Metz. Shortly thereafter, Jon became a partner and co-host on Celtics Stuff Live, and had the opportunity to speak with broadcasters and writers he has been following for years.

Jon lives in Midcoast Maine with his wife and die hard Celtics fan sons.

Jack Jemsek

Jack Jemsek has been an avid Celtics fan since 1981 when he began his conversion from a hayseed from central Illinois to an adopted son of New England. While Jack got his Ph.D. in marine geophysics from MIT/Woods Hole, he witnessed the “Bird Era” first-hand. As an environmental consultant, Jack has travailed in the outskirts of ME, VT, NH, CT and his current location in Amherst, MA. With the advent of the internet in the late 90’s, Jack stayed connected to his Celtics brethren via message boards where he bonded with the likes of Jeff Clark of Celticsblog, Justin Poulin of Celtics Stuff Live (CSL), and Tom Halzack at Connpost.com. Under the pseudonym of “ManchvegasBob”, Jack was the blogger for mvn.com’s Celtics17 site during the C’s march to No. 17. He developed a reputation for analysis that BDL said was “too good to pass over”, and Jack looks to continue that tradition with the CSL team. To galvanize Jack’s connection to the Celtics, he notes that his parents had their honeymoon in French Lick, IN, and so his devotion to the Celtics just may have been destined.

Kevin Henkin

Kevin Henkin has been hooked as a rabid follower of the Celtics since the dawn of the Larry Bird era. In the beginning, he made his bones as "Mr. Underwood" on the famed Boston Sports Media Watch message board. Subsequently, he has covered the Celtics during the past several years for various outlets including the Boston Metro, Boston Sports Review (thanks in part to a shout out by Tom E. Curran) and as the editor of Boston Sports Media Watch’s Full Court Press blog. He has been afforded credentialed access to the team since April of 2006. Kevin attempts to inject a mix of humor and insight into his commentary on the Celtics and occasionally succeeds in that endeavor.

Thomas Halzack

Tom Halzack’s writing currently appears on three basketball sites. Tom is a regular contributor to the CelticsStuffLive blog on the Comcast Sportsnet Wicked Good Sports site. He is the creator of the CelticsCentral blog for the Connecticut Post (one of Connecticut’s top three newspapers) found at forum.connpost.com.  Thomas also writes a weekly NBA column for Bleacherreport.com appearing every Tuesday on Foxsports.com.

But it all started on a Celtics message board. CSLers Justin Poulin, and Jack Jemsek were early friends from the same board. When Justin asked Tom to pick up the baton and write for the dormant MVN.com Celtic17 site, Tom brought the ranking up from near 200 in NBA blog rankings to consistently in the top 25 within a few months (Lowpost.com ranking).

Before Shaq, Kobe, Michael, Magic, and Larry, there was Bill Russell.

A veteran of much basketball on local courts while growing up, Tom is living proof that practice didn’t always make perfect. Tom realized early on that he wrote better than he played, and he thought better than he wrote. Tom’s “go-to” move was a pass. While no witnesses have been produced, Tom insists he had quick hands, was a tenacious defender, and deft passer.

From shoveling snow off courts to playing in summer heat, Tom’s experiences growing up with fellow basketball crazy friends helped form the love of the game he still has today. Tom’s game skyrocketed as he went from last picked to ‘3rd to last’ picked. Little victories.

Without realizing it at the time, the ‘after game’ pavement discussions that would inevitably take place, would be equally rewarding. As teen males in the late 60s, tells you all you need to know about the basketball court debates and discussions that would take place on any given day.

In some ways, Tom’s current efforts are a tribute to and extension of those days.
